Over the years as I have counseled and coached many women, one occurring theme is that women don’t feel that they can “have it all.” They also feel guilty because they want to feel successful in all areas of their lives without feeling like they have to compromise or sacrifice their own peace and happiness. The truth of the matter is, as a woman, you can have it all and not only can you have it all, but I dare to say that giving yourself permission to work towards having it all makes you a better business professional, entrepreneur, community leader, mother, wife, partner, daughter, sister, friend and woman.”
Here are 5 proven strategies that will allow you to have it all.
1. First, determine what ALL is for you. What areas of your life are most important to you? Create a list or lists to clarify who and what is important.
- List the 5-10 most important people in your life, including yourself
- List the 5-10 things you would like to accomplish or are working towards
2. Once you have identified the most important people and things in your life, assign sufficient time and energy to those people and things.
- Decide what your self-care regimen will be, and what, when, where and how you will spend time with yourself.
- Decide what, when, where and how you will spend time with the most important people in your life.
- Decide what, when, where and how you will complete tasks or things you need or want to accomplish..
3. Develop a regular routine and realistic schedule that allows time for successful completion or devoted time for self-care, relationships, and tasks.
- A regular routine and realistic schedule will help you be consistent and continually productive.
4. Commit to doing something that “makes your spirit dance” and taps into what you were created to do.
- Whether in your job, hobby, or side hustle, make sure that you are doing something that excites you, something that you are passionate about and something that aligns with your purpose.
5. Commit to being the best at whatever is presently in front of you.
- If you are at work completing a job responsibility or working on a task for your business or brand, talking or interacting with your spouse or partner, your children or family members, co-workers, team members or friends, give 100%, one hundred percent of your undivided focus and energy. There is no such thing as effective multitasking. You can’t truly do multiple things at once. Focus on one thing at a time and give it everything you got at that moment.
Remember in order to be fulfilled, you have to fill the most important areas of your life.
